Admission Requirements

Requirements for Undergraduate
The following admission requirements must be submitted before one is allowed to register in any of the online degrees offered by the Mindanao State University Wisdom International (MSU-WINT):

  1. Original Form 138-A (high school card) for Filipinos or high-school transcript of records or at least applicant must have finished O level in ICGCSE curriculum;
  2. Certificate of good moral character by a Principal/official of the school previously attended;
  3. Birth Certificate (one Xerox copy of the original);
  4. Three (3) copies ID pictures 1" x 1" (recent and un-retouched);
  5. Foreign student from countries where English is not the medium of instruction and/or not the native language must submit a certification of English proficiency;
  6. Completion of application form; and
  7. Payment of required registration and tuition fees. (See below.)

Requirements for Graduate (MA & PhD) Programs (For Islamic Studies click here.)

  1. A Bachelor Degree (for MA programs) and a Master's Degree (for PhD programs) from an accredited or duly recognized university, college or institution of higher learning. A minimum baccalaureate grade average of 2.0 (i.e., satisfactory) or its equivalent grade elsewhere is required for MA admission, and a minimum MA grade average of 1.75 (i.e., satisfactory) or its equivalent grade elsewhere is required for PhD admission. Applicant in MA level whose grade is 2.5 maybe admitted on probationary basis for one semester. If his/her performance after the first semester is satisfactory then he/she will be allowed to pursue the MA program. Applicant in PhD program whose grade is 2.0 may also be admitted on probationary basis for one semester. If his/her performance after the first semester is satisfactory then he/she will be allowed to pursue the PhD program.
  2. Official transcript of records
  3. A letter of recommendation from two former professors
  4. Three (3) copies ID pictures 1" x 1" (recent and un-retouched);
  5. Foreign student from countries where English is not the medium of instruction and/or not the native language must submit a certification of English proficiency;
  6. Completion of application form; and
  7. Payment of required registration and tuition fees. (See below.)

Registration Procedure

  1. See registration dates.
  2. The requirements (except application form and fees) must be scanned. Put all the scanned documents in one file (labeled with a student's name). Then send it on a zipped format with a subject: "Application requirements" at the following e-mail address: registrar@msu-international.com or send the documents by fax to E-Fax No: + 19282226701.
  3. The requirements (except application form and fees) must be submitted by mail at least two weeks prior to the start of the academic semester (See registration dates) in the following address:

  1. Fill up registration form upon approval of the application.
  2. Payment of registration and tuition fees (see below).

Fees

The following are the tuition fees calculated by semester, by year and total tuition fees for every degree:

Tuition Fees for Overseas Foreign (non-Filipino) Students:

Notes: For new students (first-time enrollees), please add US$ 30 for the registration fee (one-time only). Baccalaureate students are allowed 12-18 units per semester. Graduate students are allowed 6-12 units per semester.

For overseas Filipino workers/citizens and their dependents abroad (25% discount):

Tuition Fees for overseas MSU Alumni, Dependents of MSU Employees*, and Filipino/non-Filipino valedictorian/salutatorian (Top 1/Top 2) high school graduates** from all recognized (accredited) schools/institutions (50% Discount):

Notes: For new students (first-time enrollees), please add US$ 30 for the registration fee ( one-time only). Baccalaureate students are allowed 12-18 units per semester. Graduate students are allowed 6-12 units per semester. However, regardless of the number of course units to be taken, annual fees are payable fully (one whole year) or partially (by semester) on enrolment. Students who will have fully paid their tuition fees for their respective degrees will not be charged additional tuition fees for their allowable extra periods of study. In the future, minimal overstaying fee may be introduced to induce students to complete their degrees within a reasonable period of time.

* Submit proof/certification of MSU Employment.
**Submit any valid proof. The 50% discount for valedictorian/salutation is only good for the first semester, but renewable for the next succeeding semesters if the student obtains (and maintains) a weighted average grade of at least 1.5.

For students in the Philippines:

Tuition PhP 300/unit PhP 600/unit
Miscellaneous PhP 500/semester PhP 1000/semester

Note: Baccalaureate students are allowed 12-18 units per semester. Graduate students are allowed 6-12 units per semester. Please produce any valid proof/certification, e.g. from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) or from the Department of Labor and Employment, that you are not or no longer an overseas Filipino worker. Students who claim to be residing in the Philippines will be required to personally appear in any of the MSU campuses/offices in the Philippines. Finally, please note that registration/enrolment of students within the Philippines will be processed online through www.msumain.edu.ph.

Payment Processing

Payment of fees has to be made by bank transfer. For students outside the Philippines, send payment (in US Dollars) by bank transfer to the following US Dollar bank account:

Group payment (a family or friends, etc.) can be done in order to save the cost of bank transfer fees. Please notify the Cashier by e-mail (cc: Registrar) (write the complete names and the amount paid by each student) upon submission of the invoice or remittance proof.
