MSU is an official member of the International Association of Universities
(IAU).
IAU
is a UNESCO-affiliated organization which was
formally established in 1950 to encourage links between institutions of
higher education throughout the world. Its permanent Secretariat,
the International Universities Bureau, is located at UNESCO, Paris, and
provides a wide variety of services to Member Institutions and to the
international higher education community at large.

MSU has seven autonomous University campuses in Mindanao, Philippines.
MSU -- with around 68,000 students
and 3,000 faculty
members at present -- is the second largest university in the
Philippines, after the University of the Philippines.

University-Wisdom International (MSU-WINT) is the official
online university of the Mindanao
State University
(MSU), approved by its Board of Regents (BOR) on 25 February 2003 under BOR
Resolution No. 9, s. 2003. The Mindanao
State University
main campus in Marawi City,
Philippines
will award degrees to students of this online university who will successfully
comply with all the academic and other requirements for graduation. The
diploma or certificate awarded to any MSU-WINT graduate will be the same as
the one achieved in-campus.

MSU is a registered member of the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions
of Higher Learning (ASAIHL). ASAIHL is an educational international association
based in Bangkok, Thailand. ASAIHL was
founded in 1956 as a non-governmental organization at a meeting in Bangkok of the heads of eight state universities in Southeast Asia. It assists member institutions to
strengthen themselves through mutual self help and to achieve international
distinction in teaching, research and public service.

In terms of academic excellence, MSU is one of the top five (5) higher
educational institutions in the Philippines as
certified by the Chairperson of the Commission
on Higher Education (CHED).
